upgrading my HT system, adding individual AMPs for my speakers.
I got my eye on Emotiva XPA-100 (250w)

will this be a problem?
considering so far I have AMPs the match the max Watt for rest of my speakers
what would happen if have the urge to crank the volume will this speaker be at risk with this AMP

I highly doubt you going to do any damage. Center channels dont have much dynamic sounds sent to them. Its mostly voices and its rarely used for music. Its hard to kill a speaker with too much power. Its much easier to kill a speaker by clipping amp

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Underpowered is a real-world issue, over powered is not unless you drive the speakers so hard you damage them.

Agree with all the above posters. Lets remember that a volume dial isn't ment to be buried either. Turning it all the way up, amps or not, introduces distortion and that will kill tweeters just as fast.

My wife is the worst with the volume control, constantly hitting +5. I then had to set rules, -10 was the loudest she was able to go unless I was present. Reason being is you start entering the danger zone after that and I can better tell when the music is starting to collapse and limits are reached. She can't....so the rules are set.
