rtiA9 vs. rti12 vs. lsi15 as front
Hi, rebuilding/upgrade my system lately. Sold all my Energy RC70 and v6.2 and and waiting for Newegg A9 for $399 deal to come back hopefully on Black Friday. But Polk Ebay lower down both rti12 for $675 + tax and lsi15 $800 + tax last night. What is your advise? I listen to mucis 80% of time. I have receiver (HK 7550HD) amd Adcom GFA555II so shouldn't be any problem driving any of the speakers about and I'm consider add more power amp for the center and back. Lsi15($800 + tax)? rti12($675 + tax)? or rtiA9($800 maybe)?. Or maybe lsi25 for $1170 + tax.
Thanks,
Joe
Thanks,
Joe

80% music=LSi15 IMO.

I think most of the folks here would probably select the LSi15s over anything else. These are musically oriented speakers and were part of Polk's flagship series for many years. Everything else on your list are very good speakers but a lower tier. If you have a good amp (and you do) I personally wouldn't think twice in getting the LSi15. If you order today, you'll have them in a week in time to play for the Holidays.Fronts:B&W 804 Diamonds, Center: B&W HTM2 Diamond, Surrounds: PolkAudio LSi F/X (4)

having both rti12 and lsi. you're not going to like rti series with music, maybe the first 15 mins. after that, you just want to get out of the room to relax your ears. rti is great for HT

Are you sure you are actually getting much of an upgrade if any ? I have the RC-70's for 2 channel and they are very good speakers. They will produce any sound found on a disc and the tweeter is outstanding. I use RTi10's for 100% H/T and they are excellent for that purpose.Home Theatre.............

Today I have a chance to test a pair of rti10 (borrow from my friend). I stopped after 10 minutes. Larry777 you are right. it is no way close to the RC70 for music. So I guess rti12 is not a bigger improvement so it won't be an upgrade. My friend also has the A9 for about a week and also it is not what I want for music even after break-in. All are too bright for my taste for music. Now I regret to let my RC70 go. I guess this what people call upgrade bug. I will go ahead and get my lsi15 (maybe lsi25) in next couple day before Polk Ebay on sale end. Thanks for all help here.
Not sure why Polk Ebay charge MD tax!!!!!MAIN:
