Greetings from UK....apologies apologies if i mess this thread up but just looking for advice as i am going round in circles....i've been looking for the TL 2600 series ( first time newbie on polk and surround sound generally ) and in the UK another well advertised brand forces its way onto mainstream TV aplenty and sinced its spoon fed you start to believe the hype until you read forums and google stuff like this so here goes....i know i most certainly wont be happy with a certain well advertised company and have now set my heart on buying POLK Blackstone series however a few issues...The cost in UK is astronmical for like for like i.e. the TL2600 is ?1000 pounds which equates to $1600 dollars!!...now i can ship to a USA address as i have family in USA however the other stumbling block i have is the differing in voltage, here in UK we have 240V 50Hz and in USA its 110V 60HZ. Now i can get a transformer to step down the voltage of UK to USA but is there anything in the SUB that will cause issues with the difference of HZ, i know that a fan for instance if a pc was purchased from USA it would run slower and therefore burn out quicker so i cant see if there is an issue with the SUB. This seems a biit drastic to purchase a large transformer for this reason but does anyone know if POLK sell the international spec for the UK?....i suppose i have few options but one i have considered is buying the speakers from USA because they are plug and play and not running powered by mains voltage and then purchase the amp in UK....any suggestiosn or help....i really want POLK and not some other sub standard system. HELP....LOL:biggrin:

Unfortunately I can't answer your questions, but you've got several good brands there to choose from. I can tell you that if I lived over there Polk would not be my first choice, especially the model you're looking at. The TL3 are a special speaker, the less expensive models are not so much, at least not to me.

I'd be looking hard at KEF if it were me

My favorite speakers out of that area come from KEF, I would start with them and B&W and go from there.
