Ford Ranger Speaker Adapter Plates for 6.5" DB651

Just had four 6.5" DB651 speakers installed into my Ford Ranger by abc warehouse and the speakers were installed off centered because he didn't use adapter plates. I believe the hole for the Ranger is 5x7 (or 6x8?), so I would like to get adapter plates to make the 6.5s fit properly and to reduce vibration.
My question is: If I installed adapter plates, would there be enough clearance between the tweeter and the door panel? Most adapters I've seen are 1/4" thick, and it looks like the tweeter is already pretty close to the panel. I've been looking at car-speaker-adapters.com, and might get them from there... What brands would you recommend? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
