FS Selling a Sansui AU 717 85 w/ch integrated amp. This amp is in excellent condition and everything operates as it should The first owner traded it in at Chicago Audio a couple of years ago and they went through it and cleaned up everything including the glue Sansui used . Another gentleman bought it from CA and I bought it from him. It needs nothing.
Features include nice stepped volume control, bass and treble with turnovers, high and subsonic filters, +20db muting, inputs for 2 turntables , aux, tuner and two tape decks with dubbing options. Also has preamp out/ main amp in terminals and an option of running it in DC mode or with a cap in the path.
As usual I use a detachable power cord with my gear so the original cord was cut to put an IEC socket on. It has now been reattached by twisting each side together, soildering each side , taping each side and then taping them together. All in all way above average I am going a different direction. Asking $325 Thanks

Geppy, just a thought, but why not keep an IEC (re cheap) plug on it when you sell it and just include like a cheap cord for like a computer or whatever so it works. That honestly might help it sell better, I know it would be nice to get a AVR with an IEC plug when that time comes for me so I can use different power cords. Or just offer the IEC option if the person buying it is from the forum (as I know you sell on ebay & CL as well), just a thought.

Regardless your gear always looks in fantastic shape and I am sure you will not have problems selling this.

Someday I'll process the obsession with power cords, but maybe not today.

In any case that's a damned good price for that, and I am a little pissed that I paid just a little less than that for my AU 517 (65 watt x 2) similar build.

What don't you like about this? That's supposed to be one of the pinnacles of Sansui quality in that time period?? As for mine, one channel in the phono section is F-ed! Repair is in order, there goes MORE money!

Nothing at all, just not my style, but I am sure it will get snapped up for the reasons you say.

I love Sansui of this vintage. I've got a TA-500, which is a "tuner-amplifier" (Sansui didn't want to call it a receiver?) that is 50wpc and has the black/ivory look of the TU-X17 tuners. Beautiful to look at!

    Good luck with your sale.

This is a great Integrated Amp for 2 channel audio with much more power than you would think. If I didn't have one, I would jump all over this. What is $325 bucks for an amp like this ?.......I guess a lot of people don't understand what this really is. I wouldn't let mine go for $325.

Or, some of us understand what it is and prefer an all-original version.

This pic is NOT of Geppy's 717, but a stock photo to show what the innards look like on an AU-717. Nice !

Dave, I understand your point, but it's not like Geppy mounted some computer box fans for cooling.
