I'm about to make my 1st big home audio purchase here. im gonna go with polk rti70's for fronts.however what i wanted your opinion on is the receiver. I work at a Best Buy in virginia, and i can get a Yamaha HTR-5590 for $380. the retail on them is $800. i would much rather go with a better Denon or Onkyo but im trying to get the best deal as possible. What i wanna know is, will that receiver be alright with the speakers that i want? i also am probably gonna get the JBL 10'' 150sub since i can get that for $150 when the retail is $350. just wanna know what you guys think. i know the 5590 isnt a killer receiver or anything but damn for $380 i dont think i can beat it.need your input please

Regardless of the receiver you end up purchasing I'm sure the 70i's will serve you for a long time. You might consider picking up a 40i for the center as well.

    Good luck

take advantage of any discounts you can. After all, an $800 denon receiver may best an $800 yammie, but a $380 dollar denon certainly won't.

On another note, I would save up for a better sub, whatever the TOTL is that best buy carries.

Save --- "Big Audio Purchase" even in the mid fi world your still talking small bannanas. Onkyo 901 - 989 is more like it. $1000 SVS and so on.
