Turntable clipping at higher volume?

My best turntable has been in my garage set up all summer hooked directly to a Nad integrated. Now that it is getting cold out. I no longer hang out in the garage so I moved TT back in to main HT set up w Marantz and a BBE Phono pre. Now I get a hum or clip at higher volumes? I do not know of doing anything differently than last spring when I last had it hooked up. Ground wire from TT is hooked up to phono pre. My fronts are now SDA SRS and I used my RTi 12's before? Thanks in advance. Darryl

No noise in other location? Doesn't sound like a ground fault, you would hear that at any volume. What power supply turns your platter?
if not DC then it's AC line noise, not sure but I'd check that first. -
Could it be vibration affecting the tonearm at higher listening levels?SDA SRS 2.3TL's

I'd go along with this according to what has been presented. I'll bet the bass is better with them SDA SRS.
A turntable is a mechanical pickup system. The sensitivity of a turntable to vibration depends upon the room acoustics, the turntables location in the room, and how it is supported. Isolation is great for floor/rack vibrations but the table is still susceptible to airborne vibes. You may have to experiment with isolation or relocating the table. I would do that before thinking of trying a subsonic/rumble filter.
EDIT:
BTW I've experienced what I described with my rig. If I do a south wall setup with the table between the speakers, there is no playing vinyl above 75dB SPL. Table and gear on side wall, I can go to over 100dB SPL and lose some hearing.:cheesygrin:Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
Good point! Db will have an effect on pickup, especially at higher pressure levels, feedback, vibration, ect.

Makes a lot of sense too me since TT is placed right in front of passive on SDA's. I will check it out tonight thanks for the help.
