FS A very nice Marantz 2240B AM/FM 40w/ch stereo receiver from 1976. I was so impressed with this I am looking for a larger one. This receiver works great and everything works as it should including all lights except the STEREO indicator light is out. An easy fix. It does receive stereo, the light bulb is just out. The other lamps were replaced years ago by the previous owner. Also the B speaker pushbutton sticks a little. but it works. The faceplate and window are in excellent condition as is the case. The case does a few spots of roughnerss when you rub your fingers acroos it but it is vinyl over metal. The controls are all very smooth and operate as they should the inside is very very clean. As usual I use a detachable power cord with my gear so the original cord was cut to put an IEC socket on. It has now been reattached by twisting each side together, soildering each side , taping each side and then taping them together. All in all way above average shape with no issues other then the one light and sticky button mentioned Asking $200 Thanks

Nice piece. Those "stereo" lights are usually the first lights to burn out. But you're right about the receiver continuing to receive stereo FM. I had the exact same problem with my 2265 which is pretty minty. Bought it locally from a guy who gave it a once over, but that light still went out after a few months. No biggie.
You want to hear something worth listening to. Get at 2265 or higher power Marantz and slap a set of Monitor 10As on it. Very impressive, why? Who knows. Some weird synergy, I suppose!
GLWTS!

Don't overlook these old Marantz receivers! They have such a nice tone and are just soooo smooth. The phono section is a huge plus too. Don't let the 40wpc fool you either. It's plenty of juice with the right speakers.
