I saw it on sunday and loved it. Best newer bond movie. I really like Casino Royale, and this slightly edges it out in my opinion. Its infinitely better then Quantum of Solace. Not gonna spoil it for anyone, but classic Bond fans will find a few treats thrown in as well.

On a side note, did anyone else think Adele's title song was awfully mastered. It sound like a mosh of noise during the louder parts. I could not distinguish what instruments where playing. My wife noticed the same thing. Seems like another loss to the "loudness" epidemic.

I heard the same thing on the title song. No dynamics at all, and it just seemed super loud and noisy the whole time. I was concerned that the whole movie was going to sound like that, but actually thought the rest of the movie sounded really good. Lots of really powerful explosions, very clean dialog, and just very well done as far as sound. But the title song sounded terrible.

    Really good movie too.

Weird, several guys at work saw it and didn't like it. They said they there was no international intrigue, no real gadgetry, and no real bond girls...all three critical components of Bond movies IMO.

I'm still going to go see it this weekend, am hopeful that those guys are just dumb and the movie is good.

It was a great Bond movie. I like the grittier Bond without all the gadgets. Not saying he didn't have a few, but didn't go over the top unbelievable.

Me too. $20 for the blu-ray looks doable. Blu-ray gets great ratings here:

Absolutely getting it. This was a terrific movie. I never thought I would like Daniel Craig in this role, but since this whole reboot started I have loved him & all the movies. They got rid of the majority of the unbelievable/unrealistic stunt crap, and focused on believable storylines that you can actually care about. I can't wait to see the next movie.

SkyFall was my favorite 007 movie. It was just well made. The Aston Martin they blew up was a 3D printed car. Very cool.

This was the most "art house" Bond I've ever seen. Great cinematography, slow build to character development. At first I was expecting a "Bourne"-like film after seeing the trailers, but I should have realized Sam Mendes would give us something more thoughtful. On first seeing it I felt it moved a little slow, but on second consideration i think that was just my false expectations and the film was just a "different" take on the franchise.

ARRRGGHHH!!! Stupid Java... The movie won't play on both of my Pioneer Blu-Ray players... It just hangs after the 20th Century Fox splash screen... Works on a cheap Sony player. Go figure.

Jon s- Amazing the variety of performance from one Bluray player to the next. Pay more and no guarantee of better functionality. My older Sony takes 5 minutes to boot (understandable), but my recent and more expensive Panasonic is only pretty good, while my 69 dollar Sony from Target bought around the same time is fastest. Frustrating indeed.

jon s., might just need a firmware update on the PIo. to fix it. I know on my old PS3 slim it wouldn't play 1 or 2 blu ray movies til I updated it. PS. I 've gotta ask if you got your copy of Skyfall at BB, lol?,

Name 1 Bond movie where EVERY action was believable? I didn't think so.

Watched Skyfall last night on Blu Ray. Outstanding!!! This ranks with the very best Bond films ever. I hope Sam Mendes (director) comes back and does another.
    No excuses!

I'm having the same problem with my BDP-05FD. Have you done an update and if so, did it work?

I watched the DVD version, great movie, but I'd like to be able to watch the Blu-ray version.

Absolutely loved the BD. The trip down nostalgia lane was a huge plus, seeing the DB5 in action was great. Just a tip to whoever buys the movie, don't watch the extra features prior to watching the film, a spoiler is revealed.
