i have a PSW-110 hooked up to the second set of pre-outs on my Acurus pre. my office is absolutely horrible, and it so far, untreated save for a large area rug on the hardwood floor. my 11T's are on either side of my desk, both near corners of the room, with the sub underneath the desk. the office is 10' x 12', with the wall behind me being used for my wife's workstation, so there are not really any workarounds for the situation.
also, there is a closet right to the left of my desk, in between the desk and the left channel tower.
what i have found is that between the closet, the short throw between myself and the speakers, and the desk itself, bass was pretty much disappearing, i i picked up the sub cheap to experiment with. i dynamatted the inside, as well as added a little damping, as this sub is not all that musical and a little boomy. plus it sits on a rug.
i run it at 80 Hz, volume depending on the day, but usually 80-100%. for my situation, it has help round out the sound, without anything getting too overbearing. occasionally, depending on what i am listening to, there is still a boom to the low end, no matter what i do with the controls, and it can get fatiguing. a better sub would help, plus i need to so some room treatment.
right now i am refurbishing a pair of Infinity RSb's, and these will most likely become my office speakers while the 11T's and a pair of 5jr's i have will be the start of my HT system. while this is the best sounding "computer" audio i have ever had, the 11T's might be just a little more than i need in this setting.Polk Lsi9

I have a 12x15 room with the RTA's at the long axis and have placed the sub ( due simply to the lenth of cable) @90 degrees to the RTA'S. about 4 feet on the left side of the room. Seems seamless and non-directional and has the effect of comming out of the RTA'S instead of a seporate speaker. Still want to play with freq. Xover settings (about 100hrtz now) and towing a little toward my listing position at this point. Will play with these peramiters and see what floats my boat. But initial feelings is very positive. Really gives the RTA'S a demention they never had ie chest pounding base especially the base drum responce. Its got me wondering what a really good sub could do!Main Rig:
