RM7200 or Bose Acoustimass 6 III

Basically I made the mistake of diving in too deep off the bat. I purchased an Onkyo 701 and a pair of RTI70s.. and I realize that those speakers are too big for me to ever match up with other speakers and still be reasonable for my tiny living room.

Soooo..I am thinking about buying a speaker package for my home theater, and later getting a used poweramp for my 70s and use them simply for stereo.

So, my question being, assuming I can get both items for the same price (and I can), which should I get?

I had the RM7200 and can say that they were very good. The size of my room they did perform very well, if you do get the choice of the free 202 sub I say get it with the set.

    Good Luck

Keith - Sorry to hear about your issue, but it will all work out in the end. I think the idea of having two rigs, is great, go with it.

The Sub/Sat combo isn't my favorite, but Polk does make a very nice series. I have listened to both Bose and the Polk series, and if you could do an A/B, it wouldn't even be an issue. The Polk outperforms the Bose, hands down. The 7200 is a great choice, and should make you very happy.

Have you thought about the 7600? The smaller the satellites you have, the more work that sub is going to pick up. I would check out the 7600, if its an option for you. BUT I have the lowly PSW202, and that little **** does ok, for what it is. Granted I am running more full range speakers, but you get my drift.

Are you buying from Crutchfield? I have a $20 off code if you would like it, it benefits us both at that level of purchase. Just wondering. Good luck, whatever you choose to do.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks for the input, I will probably go with the 7200. I don't want to go with the 7600 because then I also need to buy a sub, and I wony buy anything less than a $1000 SVS. I'm a retailer so I wont be getting any special promos or anything, just paying what we pay for the product. I used to hate bose, but being around the AM6 and AM12, and lifestyle systems all day have made me believe that they are fun, albet overpriced, toys.

The 7200 comes with the 550 sub and the 7600 comes with the 650 sub. The 7600 better speakers and the 650 (2-10 woffers) would be that much better. If you look into the two sets you will find that the 7600 would be the better choice if you can swing the differance (only a couple houndred). If you think of the $1000 class of SVS subs later you will prob. want to also look at a speaker upgrade (rti-70 or better) to better blend together IMO.

Why not order 2 RM7600 sats individually and score the SVS motherload as well? Plus you can go with the CSi5/CSi40 for a center and be much better off there as well. I used to own the RM7600 (and RTi70's for that matter).
