whats going on?

I have a complete DX system. I have been playing with them for about 8 months. I just recently bought the DX 12's for the 2 component sets. and for some reason i cannot get everything to balance out. The front speakers are way too brite, and the rear speakers arent loud enough! and the bass doesnt blend in well at all. i took it to a shop here is town and they said everything was hooked up properly. ive check the phase several times in each speaker and tried to invert phase on everything. ive also tried many different configurations on my 3 band EQ and nothing seems to balance it out right. everything has the same cross over frequency. Ive spent a lot of money on my car and this is very disappointing and its starting to get very frusterating. Is there anything else i can do? any unique thing that i could try at all that might make my system better? Im currently runing 40 X4 and 120X2, if that helps any... thanks for any info you are able to give me
