Brown Shugga Rocks! I like just about everything that Lagunitas Brewery has put out.

I thought it was pretty good! I'm getting used to hoppy beers. I heard I'll just have to keep drinking them to acquire the taste which isn't a problem :)

Gentlemen, it just doesn't get any better than Portsmouth (NH) Brewery's "Kate the Great Russian Imperial Stout"!

It will be a little difficult to get your hands on any for awhile. Tod Mott, the brewmaster for the Portsmouth Brewery till recently, left to found his own brewery (in Kittery, ME), I think. He retains ownership of the recipe for Kate the Great; Portsmouth Brewery retains rights to the name "Kate the Great."

For several years, Kate the Great was brewed only once per year and in limited quantities. People came from all over the country for the release day, and the annual "batch" was quickly depleted. In 2011 and 2012, the Brewery ran a lottery in which you purchased raffle tickets (15 per person limit) for $2.00 each just for the chance to buy one bottle of Kate the Great for (I think) $8.00. Some highly regarded beer aficionado publication has rated Kate the Great the second best beer in the world for several years running!

This year my wife and I were lucky enough to get 20 winning tickets our of the 30 we were allowed to purchase. My wife actually scratched 15 winners in a row from her 15 tickets -- unheard of!

I'm hoping Tod Mott will brew and market the beer in quantity with wider distribution as soon as he is up and running. Although the name will be different, it should be easy to identify its new name. I just hope the brew will be as good.

This stout is like drinking the elixir of the gods: smooth, creamy, a bit sweet, but it just makes you want more!

Now that I have to stay away from gluten I cannot have traditional beer. It is horrific as it sounds.

But there is hope! Two Brothers has started brewing REAL BEER with an enzyme that metabolizes the gluten, effectively making it gluten free well below 5ppm. Currently they are only doing this with their Prairie Path Ale, but hopefully it is a sign of things to come!

Gluten-free beer otherwise is a pretty bodiless tasting beer. Thin, clean, and almost cider-like on the whole. The only thing I have found that comes close to dark, is Green's Dubbel Dark which is still a bit lacking, and over $10/pint.

Glad to havePrairie Path Ale, however. The first real beer I've had in a VERY long time.

A good way to get int hoppy beers is through Black IPAs and Fresh Hop brews. Lots of great hoppy flavor, less bite, and a more relaxed flavor. Widmer has a great fresh hop, and if you can source New Glarus, they have a killer Black IPA, Black Top.

Best mexican beer (IMO of course) is Bohemia. Good stuff.

I am trying the 2012 Sierra Nevada "Celebration Ale" (Fresh hop IPA). Very nice flavor hop flavor but slightly light on hop flavor (IMO). IBU somewhere in the 70 ish range (it doesn't state what the IBU number is so I am guessing).

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
