Enterprise is retiring on December 1st after 50 years of service

I came across this on CNN. It gives a review of the history of the ship, and says there is a movement to name the replacement carrier as Enterprise. I suspect we will always have an Enterprise in the fleet, and in our future.

    There has been quite a few ships that carried the name U.S.S. Enterprise. The ship built specifically to escort here was decommisioned a few years ago. She has always carried a respected name.

    I thought they retired it when Capt.Kirk quit.
