I'd like to have your opinion about the purchase of a new CD player: Rotel RCD 1072.
My current sistem:
Onkyo TX-SR600E
Mains: Polk Rti70
Shoul I choose a CD player less "audiophile"? Or it would be a good choice?
Thank you in advance!

Rotel makes very good cd players. I own the RCD 961 and recently compared it in my home to the RCD 1070 in an A / B test and could not tell them apart. I'm willing to bet the RCD 1072 preserves much of the sonic character of the two earlier models.

Another good choice to consider in this price range is the NAD C541i, the new Cambridge Audio cd players, or a Sony ES player. The Rotel tends to be a little more detailed or "brighter" sounding than some of the other players. I think you would be happy with any of them though. Best thing to do is audition and listen to as much as you can before you buy but the Rotel is a safe choice and comes with a 5 year warranty as well.
