In the world of amps where does Onkyo fall into the mix as far as build quality and sound ? Anyone have any experience with the m282 model or listened to the new 5010.

I built a pair of DIY 12" subwoofers they had no amp they had a large crossover in them I wired them to a m282 it went into protection and went off and on .
So I removed the crossover and it worked fine .
I also had a 501 worked fine for years I used that on my fullrange speakers .

For Home Theater, the new Onkyo TX-NR 5010 can compete with anything in its class. One of the very best AVRs available currently.

The M282 is an OK amp, nothing special. Onkyo has better offerings at higher prices!
