Hi,
I've been looking around for a complete system. I've been looking regularly for quite a while on craigslist, audiogon, claz, ebay, and amazon. If anyone can help me out with suggestions, leads, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

So, are you serious about selling one, or is this a joke?

I'm sure that for the right amount of money anything can be sold regardless of rarity.

Do these systems break down often?

From what you people have been writing, soon there will be no way to ever repair them.

So there's no aftermarket dealer center, or independent provider. Those of you with these systems, your comments sounds like many of you don't want to bother with them at all.

What's gonna happen with these systems in the near future? Will they become expensive paperweights? And with the lack of helpful comments in my little wanted section, you're very disrespectful treatment towards me like I'm some little kid, it sounds as though you people don't want me or anyone new to the srt, to have anything to do with them or this club.

Is this how you longtime members operate here, or what ?

    Hello Searching,
Welcome to Polk's forum, sorry about the irreverent postings. Our members can sometimes have a sense of humor that can take a while to get used to, sort of like learning to enjoy certain cheeses. But, all-in-all a stalwart bunch. The SRT System wasn't produced in very great numbers, I think I found around 800 units were made. This combined with a fairly satisfied owner base means that not very many come up for sale. The best place to look would be eBay and Audiogon, in my opinion.
    Good luck in your search!
    Regards, Ken

Maybe you can make a home grown one - that would be one hellavu DIY project.

a few sheets of MDF board, the right kind of tools to cut out circles for speakers, a few resisters and capaciters and some copper wire, buy a few mids, tweets, and woofers offa the bay, a little elbow greece. and Walla --- a DIY SRT system for a fraction of the $25K going price.

Post pictures of your progress please.
Yamaha RX-V2700, EMI 711As (front), RCA K-16 (rear), Magnavox Console (Center & TV Stand), Sony SMP-N200 media streamer, Dual 1249 TT =--- Sharp Aquas 60" LCD tellie

That is actually a really good idea. There are so many folks here with their own niche that it is very possible to join everyone's talents and possibly make a few sets. Will take some time but I would build one if things go right. I'd start with Gimpod and see if he wants/can reproduce the original xover boards with his added flare.
    Too much **** to list....

These sound very interesting. However, I am still interested in getting an original srt system at this time. But, thanks!

Searching1, make him an offer and see if he bits. You'll need to bring your savings account through for what he might accept...

    9) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.

Again, the moderator's have rules to go by. There is no sense in you calling them or their rules stupid. There is a reason for those rules. Your attitude and "words of wisdom" are not going to garner your any friends around here. Best thing you can do is post your email address and let the OP email you. Many forums have similar rules set in place, or rules where you have to pay to sell and buy.
