I saw the thread the other day and it really interested me. I did go to their site and saw the Connect for $350.Now,
my computer is in my bedroom and the only way I get inter net radio is out of the headphone jack into a y-splitter then on to rca cables. It works but w/ this device can I run a short keystone jack from computer into the Sonos and
keep it in my bedroom?
How would I connect to my Yamaha being that both opticals are being used and audio 1 now is i-net and I also have a dock that's proprietory to the Yamaha.I think audio 2 is free but I'am picking up the Yamaha through my Onkyo by way of the tuner section and it also works fine. This way beyond my common knowledge.

You have 2 ways to connect the Sonos to internet.
1st is direct connect Sonos player to internet jack
2nd is through Sonos "zone bridge" connected to internet which enables you to place any of the Sonos players anywhere in the house. The zone bridge runs about $50.

The Sonos will give you access to internet radio, your music libraries on your PC etc.

I have a zone bridge in my closet where interent router is located, (2)-Sonos Connects (ZP-90) located in Theater room and my 2-channel, (1) Sonos Connect-Amp (ZP-120) running a pair of Klipsch bookies for my wife in the bath room and a Play5 in the garage which I also take with me out of town on long business trips with a a zone bridge.

The Connect has optical, coax, and RCA outputs to your receiver or pre
The Sonos creates its own network which while playing each location as a seperate zone or seemless room to room music....we love ours

So if I do keep it into the bedroom then run ether net jacks from Sonos to computer do away w/ my splitter deal and then run the rca cables or a coax into my Yamaha I would be set and that's it.I do know how to import into I-tunes library then sync to i-pod> dock and I assume this is close to the same procedure.
I have another issue w/ my I-pod. I have like 400 + songs on it and I go into songs and shuffle but all it does is stay in the same
alphabeticle section then repeats the section. How do you play your entire library?

    http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_access_itunes_with_my_sonos_player.html

Sonos will let you import your itunes playlist or you can create a sonos playlist once you link to your library on your pc.

You will actually load Sonos app on your pc

Sonos has great info online and verbal support

I agree LW, and since you are always looking for ways to move music around, capatability issues, etc, Sonos can give you a solution and can be hooked up to anything without running wires all over the place. Let me also suggest you read up on some of the digital downloading threads, dac threads, and see where that takes you in putting this all together in your head.
