If you like Yamaha, the 2400 should be an improvement over the one you have right now. Is there anything better? That depends...Each brand have their own unique sound. You should try to demo and read as many reviews of receivers to find the one you really want. When buying receivers, sometimes you're paying for features you'll never use. You should also check out Denon, Pioneer (Elite), etc. If you're willing to save a little more, Rotel and NAD make very good receivers.
