Is my PSW111 dead ???

I just purchased a brand new PSW111 3 weeks ago.
Set it up and adjusted it and enjoyed it until yesterday!
Yesterday I start my system and for some reason the volume of the subwoofer is at max output even when the actual knob is just at a quarter of the way from minimum.
If I touch the volume button just a little bit, the sub goes crazy and vibrate like it was at full volume!
My Receiver only output 38W, so there is no way I could over power the sub.
I verified all my connections and all is fine.
It looks/sounds like there is a short somewhere inside on the volume button.

Any idea? Or do I have to return it?
It's only 3 weeks old :neutral:

Thank you in adavance for any suggestions you might provide.

Micro Seiki DD40

    Hello nick,
    Welcome to Polk's forum, sorry there's a problem. From your description I would think it best to return your unit for an exchange. In all likelihood the volume control potentiometer in the bass amplifier has become defective. If you are unable to return the unit contact Polk's CS department at 1-800-377-7655 or send them an email to: polkcs@polkaudio.com and they will definitely help.
    Regards, Ken

    @Ken,
    Thank you for your advice, I got in touch with CS and they took care of the situation.

    @Sagasa,
    You are right, CS made it very easy, they were a pleasure to deal with and I sent my backplate for replacement.

    I wish all companies were taking care of their customers as well as this one does!
