Today i purchase polks lsim 706 cntr. I was thinking about buying the matching lsim 702 f/x (surrounds). I already have a pair of the lsi f/x(refurbs) that i purchased prior to deciding to go with the lsim series.would it be ok to run the lsi f/x with a lsim (707's,lsim 706,lsim 703') h.t. Set-up?or should i buy the lsim702's? Im posting this because im sure that someone in this forum has dealt with the same issue. Thanks for your input.....

I'm not clear on whether you already have some LSIM's for your fronts? I have the Lsif/x's and they are pretty awesome. But many, myself included, believe if it is at all possible match the components all the way around in a surround sound system. The surrounds are expensive, so maybe good advice is to use the Lsif/x's now until the funds become available to for the 702 f/x's.

So, what are the other speakers in this 11 channel setup? You mentioned the 706, 707's, and 703's, so this pair (either the FX's of 702's) would make (7) channels. What are the other (4) channels? My thought is this: if you can afford (9) channels of LSiM's, you can afford (2) more. You'll be glad you did.

I'm somewhat of a purist, so if you can't afford (11) channels of LSiM, I'd say do (9) of LSiM, and leave the LSi's out of it... or do (7), or (5), whatever works with your budget.

That said, I am running LSiFX's with LSiM fronts because I won't spend the money for the 702's... yet, and it sounds pretty good. I am also using an original LSi for a center. I'd prefer an LSiM center and surrounds, but I won't swing it right now. I may even sell the 703's I'm using as fronts and go back to LSi9's as fronts to save some money. Not because the LSiM's aren't awesome, just because I have a good 2 channel rig already, and I only use the HT rig for TV and an occasional movie, so I feel like the LSiM's are wasted in that setup.

I just purchased a pair of 707's to go with my 706 cntr. I don't know which ones to get next. Probably two pair of lsim 702's (one pair for rear surr./ another for front effects). I also plan on buying another pair of 707's for rear effect speakers . But to be honest , i'm still not sure.
