Im kicking around the idea of getting rid of my carver a500x to fund a new sub . I would just run my lsi15s and lcic off my marantz 7002 . I have boston 8 ohms in the back. Any thoughts?

That would not be a very good idea. Your speakers need all the power they can get to run to their full potential and they would place a heat increasing burden on your receiver that if you run at high volume it could go into protect mode.

Be patient, continue to save money and get a sub, but leave the amp in place to protect both your speakers and your receiver.

What a bad idea that was . I tried it with no amp even at low volumes it was not as full sounding as with the carver and at high it just didn't sound the way it use to . So I'll keep the amp and save up for a sub.

No worries mate, I knew your LSi's probably needed that Carver (mine do ).
