Lsi vs Monitor color and center vs book shelf

My first question is I have seen the color of the monitor series from newegg in person and would like to know if othes who have seen both could chime in on how close or far the Lsi cherry speakers are in color to the monitor series, lighter, darker?
Second question is obviously alot of people including myself are looking the Lsi series because they can be obtained for much cheaper prices right now due to being discontinued. But that also means the LsiC is hard to find. So would it be bad to use an Lsi9 on its side as a center channel, what about upright, since lets be honest its hard to find any entertainment centers that actually fit normal sized home theater speakers so I may be forced to build my own entertainment center anyway.

I'd say welcome to Club Polk, but you've been here for almost two years! First post?
I would NOT lay an LSi-9 on its side, it's not designed to work that way. But you can use three LSi-9s in the vertical position as L/C/R without any major problems if you have the space. Should sound nice!

Yes welcome.
I used an lsi7 on its side for over year as my center with lsi7s as mains, and I thought it sounded wonderful, never had any problems with lobing as others claim, but I also always sat in the sweet spot not off axis. I know that mystic used three lsis9s as his fronts with the center on its side and he liked them so much that he had vr3 mod them! But if you can place it upright that would probably be even better. The colors aren't close at all... cripes, even the cherry finish on the lsi line isn't all created equal. My 15s and my 9s don't come close to matching but yet are both "cherry"

I think I signed up to the forums when I registered my polk monitor 60s. But speaking of that apparently their is a slightly odd rule that you cannot see classifieds unless you have 100 posts. I can understand not allowing people to post in the classifieds but once you are there you would think you would want as many people as possible to be able to check out your post.
grimmace19 Do you have any pictures of your Lsi9s next to the 15s, also you can you comment on if they are lighter or darker then say the polk Tsi / monitors? I know that staining wood, you will never get exact matches I am more concerned with with overal shade. Some pictures make them look very light others make them look closer to the monitor series. But I cannot seem to find a picture where both the TSi/LSi are in the same image. -
Used an lsi9 on its side as a center for a while. Worked fine for me, and sounded much fuller and more cohesive than the lsicMy System Showcase!

Just an update here, I ordered the LSi9 in cherry, they arrived and I figured I would post in case anyone else searches on this issue. The main question I had was on the color. Polk said the color was similar but richer. I would say the color hue is more red. It is not a deal breaker or anything but I would say it leans more toward halfway to rosewood. All 4 speakers I had were pretty similar in color though.
The bigger problem is 1 pair is was broken on arrival. But that is another thread. -
Congrats anyway, hope your not driving them on a receiver alone though. They'll need an amp to put some juice behind them.HT SYSTEM-

I agree. Those are nice speakers. The color issue is a new one I haven't heard before. I'd love to see those photos too.Fronts:B&W 804 Diamonds, Center: B&W HTM2 Diamond, Surrounds: PolkAudio LSi F/X (4)
