Adventures in 3D Sound

There was a story on NPR's Studio 360 radio show today about a new sound processor created by the Director of Princton University's Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory. The story is over a year old but I never heard about it before nor saw any discussion about it here so I thought I would post it. The concept seemed similar to the original intent of Polk's SDA technology. You can listen to the whole radio story as well as a sample of the 3D sound for stereo speakers or headphones by following this link:

It just goes to show how far Mathew Polk and company were ahead of their time. When they play Pink Floyd's Money in the above link it sounds a lot like how the SACD sounds being played through my SDAs, only not as good!

Indeed!Political Correctness'.........defined

Pretty cool. I wonder if most people in the 2ch community will accept this extra processing if it becomes mainstream. The demos were neat.
Noticed this: The trick is to cancel the crosstalk without altering the sound quality-something no one has ever quite pulled off until now.
Didn't SDA cancel crosstalk without altering sound quality? -
