I cant wait for Donalds new one to arrive Sunken Condos ordered it Saturday, and it should hit the mailbox this friday. So until then me and the missus are having A Donald Fagen-Athon she loves Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, and Walter Beckers stuff as much as I do. We have listened to the new one about 3 times and both agree even though it is a stream off of MSN site it sounds good.

We have listened to The Nightfly and we are listening to Kamakiriad, as I type next up Morph The Cat. This stuff is so well Recorded and its the first time listening to these on The SDA's Wow impressive. I feel like mixing up a few martinis pulling out a cigar and having the wife put on some go go boots and saying stuff like cool dadyo or whatever the Jazz beatnicks said in the Day. Is anyone else looking forward to Donalds new one?

"Donald Fagen's fourth solo album for Warner Reprise, Sunken Condos, will be released on October 16. His first three solo albums, The Nightfly, Kamakiriad and Morph the Cat comprised the project known as "The Nightfly Trilogy." Sunken Condos begins a chapter in the creative evolution of this innovative artist, whose career is still going strong after forty years.

The nine tracks on Sunken Condos were co-produced by Michael Leonhart and Donald. All but one track, an Ashkenazi recasting of Isaac Hayes' "Out of the Ghetto," are Fagen originals. Some familiar names from the Steely Dan family of players are on hand (Jon Herington, the Steely Dan horns, Freddie Washington) plus some new faces. The word is that, from now on, everything Donald does has got to be funky."

    Love that last sentence!!

Later Steely Dan recordings are outstanding as well; 'Everything must go" "2 against nature" highly recommned them, esp 2 against nature.

If I had to pick 1 group, and that was all I could listen to----it would be Steely Dan, without hesitation.
