Hello fellow Kentuckian, first use the sub out jack on the Sony, use a good cable, (monster), try placing the sub in a corner it will load the room well with bass. The corner is not always the best place in all rooms, but try to keep the sub close to your mains. Also the sub is the hardest spk in any system to get good balanced sound, the key to it is placement & using the correct x over freq, & phase. Dr Spec can anwser bass q better!!!My HT set-up Panasonic front proj, 120 in ws screen, ATI amp,Integra 9.8 pre-pro, 2 Polk rti150, cp 1000, 4 fx 1000, Pioneer blu-ray 2 SVS sub pb 12-ultra 2, & Paragon popcorn popper. ps 3 Coaster leather HT recliners.

PN, you weren't specific about the things that you're wondering about, but in general the sub should be located in the tightest(farthest from doorways or other big openings)corner behind the mains. Connect it to the sub out on the 945 with a coaxial cable into the unfiltered LFE input on the 650. The crossover on the 945 probably should be at 80Hz. The level on the 650 shouldn't be set so high that the sub draws attention to itself as a separate sound source; the impression should be that the other speakers are putting out more bass.
