For sale a very nice and somewhat rare Marantz SR 8100DC stereo receiver. Last of the Marantz/ Superscope designed units and offered around 1980-83 and made (so the ads say) with high quality parts as a push for sound quaity was on. Also has the first CompuTune system with a very nice AM/FM digital tuner with memory presets and it also inlcuded sleep timer and regular timer functions. Also features a very nice 5 band well spaced equalizer with defeat. Includes loudness ,subsonicc and high filters. Rated at 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 90 into 4 ohms it tested out with 163 watts per channel of peak power into 4 ohm loads Nice. Has inputs for phono, aux, 2 tape decks, and dubbing functions. Can handle two sets of speakers.
It is in very nice shape with a very clean faceplate. The top cover has a few small black marks but that is about it. All controls work and have a nice fee to them. I have instructions on how to use the sleep timer and other timer functions. The original power cord has been reattached as i use a detachable cord with my gear.
The sound quality surprised me as folks assume anything after the 70s Marantz wise is not as good. this has a very rich yet detailed sound. Easy to listen too. Very sharp looking to boot. Asking $195 or BO Thankis
