for my patio. I'm thinking somewhere between 32"-42" and I'm looking for $250 max. Found a great deal on a 42" Panasonic plasma at Fry's, but it's in-store only and no store within 100 miles has it. I've looked at amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, and craigslist. I've found several that would work, but wanted to throw it out here to see if anyone has seen a killer deal somewhere that I'm not looking.

Got an e-mail from amazon recently, as well as one call. Both had tv's on sale, may want to look there. Sometimes vanns has good deals on some models. ay also try best buy open box.

Might as well wait till Black Friday. The off brand 40" that are priced now at $300 will most likely be cheaper.

I don't think a plama would be ideal for outside just because of the glare on them. My dad got a 36" lcd for his back porch at his lake house. I think he got it at Target for like $250.

I am assuming that given those parameters you are okay with cheap arse brands...this appears to be a re-branded RCA that sells at wally world:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889290001

Newegg and tigerdirect often have deals like this if you keep a look out.

    Game Room 5.1.4:
Denon AVR-X4200w; Sony UBP-x700; Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 mains, CLR-3000 center, StudioMonitor 350 surrounds, ProMonitor 800 atmos x4; Sub - Monoprice Monolith 15in THX Ultra

Harmon Kardon HK3490; Bluesounds Node N130; Polk RT25i; ACI Titan Subwoofer

I agree with looking into LED if the lighting is overly bright.

Thanks guys. I knew someone would bring up some places to look that I knew about, but just didn't think of (vanns, onecall, newegg). And I need to check out another Best Buy with a better selection. The one by my house only had 3 open box and two of them were 50+". Good thought on waiting until Black Friday too. Unless I find a really good deal, that may be what I choose to do. I actually have a 42" Samsung I can use, but it's really too nice for a patio TV.

Picked up a 32" Dynex from Best Buy for $200. They also have a 42" RCA for $300 that was very tempting, but I decided to save the hundred bucks. The RCA is probably the same one Paul (rooftop) posted from newegg.

Posting this in case someone else is looking for a similar item.

No. And it's actually not the same one on newegg. This one is 720p. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+42%22+Class+-+Plasma+-+720p+-+600Hz+-+HDTV/2343493.p?id=1218321952503&skuId=2343493

Something I found out this past year when I was looking into tvs. Most manufacturers change their models after Super Bowl Sunday. I bought my Panny plasma (TC-P50ST30) for $540.00 the Saturday following the Super Bowl. I know it isn't the high end, but it originally retailed for $1000. That price included tax and 2 year warrenty.
