Budget is $300 (shipping included hopefully)

Thanks

    Drenis-

Location is what will be hard for you. I just sold a set of Polk 5's to a member in BC and the shipping was more than the speakers. Not sure what you ahve in mind for power. Are you looking for an older vintage piece like a nice Marantz, Sansui, ect or something newer?

    Good luck in the hunt.

If it's something older, my concern is quality of the unit from years of use and no services performed. So with that, something newer would be ideal. Maybe within the last 10-15 years max? Just must be a common grounded piece.

And while current makes the world go around, I know that I won't be able to get something stellar by no means. Doesn't seem to be much locally so it never hurts to see what's kicking around within the community.

I haven't heard my TL's since the end of June...

Have you considered a 4 channel receiver? Those 3.1 are bi-ampable aren't they?

You mean like a Speaker A + B kind of setup? I could care less if the unit has outputs for 4 speakers. I would just use 2. And while you could bi-amp the 3.1's, I would never use a "receiver" to bi-amp anything. Besides, I couldn't do it properly anyways.

Having no music in the house is beginning to drive me nuts.

It was a very rough summer of which I'm still digging myself out of. It IS very depressing as the whole 2-channel setup is long gone...

And thanks to those helping to keep an eye out. Really appreciate it.

Drenis- I've got several pieces that need a new home, the problem is that shipping will be probably around $100. I've got several yamaha and sony receivers that would work. The only thing i have with pre outs though would be an early 80's Sansui RZ 7500AV. I'd let it go for $80 plus shipping. I have an Adcom 5300 and 5400 (neither are common ground- however I strapped the neg terminals together and used them with my 2.3TL with no problem). 5300 and Sansui combo $225 plus ship or 5400 and Sansui combo for $265 plus shipping.

Let me know if you'd be interested.

    Soo...

What would $400 US shipped to North Dakota get me? Much cheaper to ship within the US and just drive an hour south, cross the border and pick it up myself.

I suggest going separates for more options. Find an Adcom 545 in the $150 range, which should be easy, and then find some $150 preamp. Upgrade the pre later on down the road, but finding a used adcom, nad, carver etc pre for 150 shouldn't be a problem. That 545 performs way outside its price.

    Good luck man!

To be honest, with the lack of whats for sale Int. wise and what IS for sale price wise with separates, I'm starting to ponder going that route too. Just need to find two pieces that will work well with my requirements.

Your speakers will smoke that. Have a fire extinguisher on hand when you fire it up! lol

It would seem to me that you would need at least an Adcom GFA-555 (or the equivalent 200W x 2 @ 8 ohms) power amp and a pre-amp. The bad news is that those amps average $300+ more just for the amp! Then a cheap pre-amp would be at least $150+. But that pre would probably NOT have a remote control?

I have a Parasound HCA1500A 200 wpc I could let go for $400 shipped. I also have a Yamaha M80 250 wpc but would have to get more for that one. The parasound has a feature I really like, it has an output you can run to another amp if you like, kinda have them daisy chained. Thats how I had it hooked up on my system. Looks good, sounds good.

Not sure if any of the amps have remote or not but take a look at GrantFidelity. They seem to be clearing out some tube integrated.
