2-channel or two mono-block amp(s)

In the market for a 2-channel amp or 2 mono-block amps for my RTi A9's. Currently using my AVR for 7.1 and want to get more out of the A9's than my AVR can provide.
Budget is around $600. I've looked at Emotiva's XPA-2 and may pull the trigger on one in the event of a good sale, but I've heard that I can get a better used amp for the same price so seeing what some folks have to say.
I listen to music/movies/games in a 40/30/30 split. I'm also curious if I should be providing external amplification for my center channel by going this route, or if I can continue to use my AVR for this purpose. I really only feel like I need additional amplification for 2-channel stuff, but this will be my first foray into the realm of external amplification.

Dang, those are some nice monoblock!"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
They got mixed reviews on AudioReviews.com.
What's with that?“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

Why not these? http://outlawaudio.com/products/2200.html
They pop up used from time to time, plenty of power, and it'll be easy to add a third for your A6.
Heck, or even http://app.audiogon.com/listings/multi-ch-outlaw-audio-7125-7-channel-amp-2012-09-12-amplifiers-17522 -
I had a pair of those Parasound 1201s about six years ago. I could never get rid of a ground loop hum with them. I bought them used and was able to sell them on eBay for more than I paid for them. I was not impressed with them.

I've got a modded NAD 2200 that I had been looking to sell, but then decided to hold, but am now looking to sell again. Here's the thread with description:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?119095-NYC-area-NAD-2200-amplifier-professionally-serviced-and-modded
In the thread I say I'm looking for local pickup, but I'm willing to ship.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -
Just wanted to chime in on this topic being a LSi9 owner, monoblocks do make for a cleaner sound but different vendors have a different house sound. Emotiva though a good buy is a bit on the bright side. The outlaw 2200 have a subdued sound, its pretty good and is quite cool running. I got the 2200 at a better price than the Emotiva as there is a lot more marketing from the Emo group.
