Which of them are better for music? They will be paired with a subwoofer.

I own both the ELS-3 and the 10.1. For anything acoustic, jazz, piano, etc. I would pair the Epos with a good fast sub (I use the Polk MicroPro 2000). The tweeter in the ELS-3 is very, very good and they produce a very open and airy sound, however they are not a good rock out speaker. The 10.1's are a little more versitile in both placement and ability to handle heavy rock/classical. Of course the 10.1's are about twice the size of the ELS-3's, so that does help the 10.1 to be a little more flexible monitor. For their size, the EPOS ELS-3 are scary good.
