Need help accessing files from hard drive from broken computer

I had a power surge a few days ago and toasted my old Windows Vista desktop. I pulled the hard drive and have the adapter and power supply which can plug in to a working machine via USB. The working computer shows the drive and I can access some files.
My main concern is location emails and contacts from Outlook, and getting my pictures. I can not seem to find the files I need. Any suggestions where I should be looking?
Thanks much in advance.

If you had your Outlook emails archived in a .pst file, you may want to check either of these two places:
\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
or
\Documents and Settings\(YourUserName)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Should be the first location for Vista. Once you find the .pst file(s), you can import them into your existing Outlook installation.

Pictures will be in \Users\(YourUserName)\My Pictures, assuming you put them in your My Pictures folder. Otherwise just use the search tool to scan the entire drive for pictures.

You will want to go into the control panel of the working machine, go to folders, check view hidden files and folders then you should be able to see everything from there. For Outlook you will want to copy over the .pst file as mentioned earlier on.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
