room too small for rtia5
Are RTiA5's to large for a room 13' wide X 17' long X 8' tall....
Sitting 10' approx from speakers?

No, that's pretty much the size of my own viewing space even though the room has another 8' behind the viewing couch and I'm running some M-70s instead of A5s. They're pretty similar towers, size wise. In fact my room is narrower at 11.5' x 17' (25' total) x 8.5'.
Why do you think they might be too big?

Hey... thanks for the response.
You had responded to my A3 vs A5 thread!
Still thinking over whether or not I want to push ahead and buy some A5's to replace A3's...
Just was considering room size and the fact that I would be sitting about 11' away from the speakers. Wondering if they were too large for seating that close... -
Just for reference. As you can see, I run a second system in the basement which is an A3 based (with the B.A. 100s on the Speaker B channel when needed). The basement room is 20' x 10' x 6.8''. Viewing area is 10' x 10' x 6.8'. Really small. The A3s do fine in that space. And I can only fit the B.A. speakers under them because we have a built in AVR space that is recessed into the wall almost 2'. So there is more space to work with there. Even so, I would not run Rti-A5s down there, I do think there is limited space and the B.A. speakers were designed to be flush against a wall (they're narrow depth wise; 7 or 8").
Take care!

I'm not as concerned about their "size" not fitting into the space. As the room is, the seating (where your head is) is about 11' from where the front of the speakers would.
I'm more concerned about the size of the room and distance from speakers being too small for the sound. I know this probably is a novice question... but, is it simply too much speaker? -
You'll be fine with those speakers in your room.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks for the replies. Really at this point, the question I have, then, is would such a move produce an impactful/noticeably positive result... or not. Considering I have the CSiA6 center, a great HSU sub... would the A5 give me gains in spades... or would I hook it up and go... eh.
I called and talked to someone at tech support... got a very vanilla answer. Was hoping for a little meat... but pretty much got the standard: "Well, yeah, you will hear a difference." maybe it is what it is? -
The main difference that you'll hear with A5s up front is in two channel. You'll have a wider, fuller sound stage and greater frequency response. Whether or not and how much of that you'd notice in a 5.1 or 7.1 soundtrack is more difficult to predict without being in "your" room and experiencing it. That might be why the answer Polk gave you seems vanilla. An interesting way to describe it, BTW.
There would be a significant difference in 2.0 sound over the A3s.

Ha. Well, I was hoping to talk to someone that sounded interested and enthusiastic about the gear... able to describe the differences in sound, etc etc....
What I got was kind of disinterested response...left the conversation not feeling as if I had gained anything. -
