Anyone heard these? My room isn't huge(approx. 14x22), but is open at the ends/sides. I have had big Infinities(RS1B, Delta/Gamma) with decent results. Yes, I am aware of the former av123 company's shadyness and less than stellar cs from them a few years back, but they wouldn't get any more funds anyways. Currently, I am still using the 2.3tl's.

Are you getting rid of the 2.3TL's?

I have no experience with AV123 products, but the reviews I've read indicate that they're somewhat bright sounding. May be a good match for tubes.

Here's a review from Stereo Mojo:

Danny Richie designed them, he's always been a speaker designer of heard great things about.

I used to own them and really enjoyed them and miss them. My room was bit narrower so I felt they did not have enough breathing room to really shine. I use to drive them with a solid state amp and tube preamp, which was perfect combination. I would check in with Danny Richie (www.gr-research.com) who designed them and his forum on Audiocircle.

Didn't realize Danny designed these. I look upon them more favorable now. It'd be an interesting comparison between those and some modded 2.3TL's.

That's what I was wondering too ^. I have heard both good and bad about DIY line arrays, but they are interesting to me. I never actually heard any arrays, besides at concerts.

There is a thread on audiocircle where Danny's customers have listed what speakers they have and potentially demo for folks. I believe it is a sticky thread under gr-research sub forum. Wil post the link once I get home. Also, if you post any questions on ac related to Danny''s speaker he is pretty good about responding. He is preparing for Rocky Mountain Audio Fest so the response might be slow until mid October.

Thanks! I was considering getting rid of my 2.3tl's as I am always trying different speakers.

I'd stay away from anything av123 after the fake charity scandal, but that is just me.

I agree on that, but those speakers have been discontinued and any money would only go to an actual owner, not the former company. Actually, I am interested in any great line array out there, like Pipedreams, etc.

good point, and I would bet those drivers are still available if needed.

Danny, still has drivers, the last time I had checked.

Edit: Apology in advance if I am coming across as a sales person for Danny with all the information provided. I have no affiliation or financial interest with Danny or GR-Research. I have talked to him couple of times getting advice from him on setup perspective (own couple of his products) and met him at RMAF in 2008.

Incase the OP is interested there are two on sale on audiogon. No affiliation with either seller.

One is listed for 1650 and another one is listed at 2750

The $1650 ones are from a sketchy seller. I asked hime along time ago for some pics of the actual drivers and a few photos with the grills off and he avoids doing so. He said to look them up on the factory website if I want to see what they look like. WTF?

You are right. It is a simple request if you are selling equipment. Maybe that is the reason they are listed so low. I usually see them listed around 2500 to 2800 depending on the type. Piano Black/Rosewood usually are on the high end of that number.
