A/V cabinet (including center channel)

Hi guys, I've been looking around the Web for a nice looking cabinet to put all my gear in and haven't found anything that great (and at a decent price range...)
I know that Salamander is supposed to be great, but I can't fork that kind of price for that piece of furniture...
What I'm looking for:
- Max width of 70 inches
- Depth at least 22 inches (I find that to be hard to find)
- 3 sections (left, center, right). The left and right will hold the electronic equipment, and the center one should fit my CS2 speaker (21 1/4 inch)
- Closed anclosure (I have an RF universal remote so it doesn't matter if it doesn't have glass panels.)
- I will probably look at installing custom fans on the back to add proper ventilation. I already have some very quiet 120mm Scythe fans that are fantastic.
- Reasonable price ($500 or less)
Nice to have:
- A mounting bracket for the TV. But I can always wall mount it as well.
I'm really looking for a clean/discreet look. I don't like having all my electronics in plain sight. My least favorite part is probably all the little lights on those devices, I find they distract from the movie watching experience...
Do you guys have any suggestions or know of a good Website to find such furniture?
Thanks,
- Olivier

Subwoofer - JBL L8400P

Have you looked at standsandmounts.com? Some nice looking stuff at reasonable prices. That will be where I'll buy from.

I was looking for the longest time and finally went to a bunch of furniture stores and found something that suited me but it still cost a lot. The good thing about a lot of furniture stores is that the price is more negotiable than they would like you to think. That being said, I would have probably have been better off investing in the Salamander. a dealer will give 20-30% off - just let thenm know you are serious.

I had a short thread on this not long ago, hopefully something there can help you... http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?129857-Rack-question...

I was just at Big Lots, of all places, and saw a really nice stand there. The dimensions where 36" high x 60" wide x 22" deep. Was a little pricey at $400, but one of the nicest looking stands I've seen. Had a few with those fake electric fire places in them, which I would probably remove, throw away, and add a shelf. The also had a few less expensive ones, somewhere around 10 or so.

Check out the Besta from Ikea. It has vents in the top rear of the unit for cooling, and tons of options. You choose the color and the door type; open, glass, solid, mix and match, etc. You also choose the door pulls or not, legs or not, etc. It's a good looking unit which will save some money over a Salamander, and hopefully fairly well built.

I like the IKEA idea but be forewarned the stuff is NOT made to last. It's made mostly from recycled wood and corrugated cardboard. Yes, cardboard. Great for the environent, looks great, at least initially, but won't last nearly as long as something made of real wood. If you load it up with equipment, it will eventually start to sag. But hey, for the price, it is an alternative.
