Selling for a friend who has too many speakers and bought these about one month ago. Warranty cards not even filled out yet. With original boxes and manual. Smoke free, pet free home; no blemishes or issues at all. Save a good chunk of cash on these as they are $2,000 plus tax. You can have these for $1450.00 if picked up just north of San Antonio, TX. These are the newest models from Definitive Technology and offer a more focused sound than their previous bipolar models (like the BP-2000 and 7000 series) as the rear firing speakers are reduced in output (as opposed to the front firing drivers). This gives you much better imaging but still with the air and space from the original designs. Shipping negotiable. Email if you have any questions.

Wanted to note the rear drivers are not reduced output, they just use three drivers up front and two in the back...

    GLWTS :)

Actually, you are quite incorrect. From the Def Tech website (white papers) regarding Def Techs Forward Focused Bipolar Array Technology.

To address the issues mentioned on page 2, we decided to go back to the lab and do fundamental research into bipolar design. To start, we repeated a famous speaker directivity experiment but we added something new. We used identical pairs of speakers (Mythos XTR-50s), back to back, playing together, creating a “textbook” bipolar speaker. Using a mixing console, we were able to infinitely vary the ratio of the energy that was supplied to the front and back driver arrays. We found that when the rear sound output was reduced by 6dB, localization improved while retaining spaciousness, room “expansion” and sense of envelopment. As a bonus, the clarity of the vocals was enhanced compared to both textbook bipolar and direct forward-firing loudspeakers
