I recently bought a pair of SDA1s at my local Salvation Army for $30. I know only $30, I was very excited. one I got them home I noticed that 2 of the woofers on one speaker were frozen, and that a tweeter on the other was pushed in and did not produce sound. I am looking to purchase 2 woofers, a tweeter, and an interconnect table. I really want to power these bad boys up but I don't want to do damage with parts not working correctly. I cannot wait to hear them. They should compliment my Model 10s, and Monitor 10's very well. I am not sure specifics on my exact ones, I know they are finished in black. Any help would be great.

Also please don't hate on my for being new, I just found the site, many people from AudioKarma suggested looking over here.

If they are the early SDA1's, they will have a odd looking connector with 3 holes. That cable is next to impossible to find. If the connector has one wide and one narrow slot, you need the blade/blade cable, which Polk still sells.

You need to let us know if these are SDA1's or SDA1C's.
This thread says 1's and you have another going now that says 1C.
    I'm so confused!

I will for sure clear up the confusion. Sorry for that, tomorrow before I head out for school, I will take pictures, and take out the drivers, and get the exact model numbers. I believe they are 1Cs, mainly because the site I was looking at had pictures of them and they look pretty close to what I have, black finish and all, with the exact same tweeters.

    Got some pictures up now.

Well I finally got some pictures for everybody.

Here are the speakers when I got them, before testing, the first was right as I got them, and the second was after removing the damaged speakers.

    im1js2.jpg

The decals for the left and right channels.

    2gy65ae.jpg

    znr2bd.jpg

and the interconnect plugs, and speaker terminals.

    jhefcw.jpg

The first of 2 woofers that are not working.

    2mmed7a.jpg

    The second one

    264qt01.jpg

    Both together

The tweeter, this was a reference photo for hooking it back up, to show which color wire to put where.

    2qsv2ua.jpg

and I believe there is something missing.

    2wqrabn.jpg

    The front of the tweeter.

    So what does everybody think?
I am wondering if there is refoam kits available for the woofers, or if the magnets have shifted. Also it seems that I have the rare interconnect cables, so what can I do about that?

Those are the studio version of the SDA 1C. You'll probably find the rest of that tweeter in the bottom of the cabinet. There are no refoam kits available, actually rubber, not foam. The interconnect cable is the pin/blade version, not rare, but also not available any longer. You'll have to make one. In one of your pics, you can see the white poly fill has fallen down. You want that stuff up behind the mid-drivers.

Let me start by saying I am not an expert on the SDA's like others, but I believe many have modified the SDA connector to use a RCA jack instead. Now I dont know if that is only for specific connections (blade-blade, etc) or if it works universally.

I also dont think anyone here will recommend a re-foam kit. Post a Wanted ad for whatever woofer and tweeters you need and I am sure someone will contact you with a spare you can buy.

Somewhere around here is also a list of the woofers and tweets Polk has in stock as well to buy so thats another option. If you call Polk mention your a forum member for a discount on pricing.

The tweets appear to be sl2000's easly replaced by members here ( should be replaced in pairs) or can be upgraded to the rdo194 from polk but would suggust strongly to replace all 4 if u go that route. The drivers might be available also thru a member or from polk (a replacement unit) not sure on the cable as it looks like the pin/blade.ck with polk parts or maybe a member might chime in with a suggustion.great pair of speakers well worth repairing.imho.

By pairs do you mean pairs per speaker, or pairs as in top or bottom on each speaker? The cable is the Pin/Blade style. I have been reading and It seems to be harder to find then the Pin/Pin one.

In most polks Rta's and i believe sda's the tweets are interconected with the drivers thru the xovers so they should be replaced in pairs that are PAIRED) by the xover. So they are properly balanced ( need someone more tech. on sda to chime in to explain this better.) also on other sda there is a way of changing the type of connector used for the cable.( also need someone with more exp to explain this properly) if u need sl2000 tweets as said before they are easly obtained.
