I currently own a set of 2.3's which I love but I mostly do home theater these day so which would be best and why?

I know the lsi15 have subs but I have 2 large subs already just to that clear.

What would be the up and down sides to each speaker.

The LSi 15's don't have subs.

You can't really compare the two, apples and oranges.

    I wouldn't give up SDA 2.3's for LSi 15's.

The LSi 15's have a 8" "subwoofer" but its not powered by its own amp, so whatever your running reciever or amp wise, thats whats powering the LSi 15's top to bottom (the 25's subs have a dedicated amp on each speaker).

I would keep the 2.3s and use them in a HT setup.

NooshinJohn used to run 2.3's as his front left/right with a CSi5 center and the LSi 15's I now posses as his surrounds..... It was a VERY nice setup to have.

LSi 15's have an 8" woofer, nothing "sub" about it. The LSi 25's have a powered 8" woofer that could be called a "subwoofer".

That is kind of what I was thinking but I had to ask. Asking things like is how I learn and I knew there had to be people that has listened to both.

Both are excellent speakers, but in much different ways. I like the LSi 15's a lot, just for different reasons. Nothing is really like the SDA's and since I really love SDA's I will always lean in that direction for both HT and 2-ch music.

The LSi-M, that's a different animal. If I were going to replace my SDA's, I would consider those.

Yes if I could afford them I would run lsi m705 and use 703's for the rears for sure.

Agreed. I was simply using how Polk describes them on the site. I love my LSi 15's, but I still want me a set of SDA's just because. In my case the CRS+ and the SDA 1C are on my list for a someday buy.

Do you like using your SDA's for HT? I'm guessing you're not totally sold on them because you created this thread. For 100% theater I think there's better options but for a mix or just music the SDA's are darn good.

not that it makes any difference in speaker preference, LSi25 have 10" powered woofer...

I do like the 2.3 a lot I was looking to see how they stack against a speaker from the home theater era.

I also know that over time drivers tend to get better however the 2.3 is still a great speaker for sure.

I would love to see Polk make a remake of them using there top of the line drivers of today. They would cost a arm and a leg but I would be more then happy to sell my wife to get them.
