So to make a long story short, I have a APC H15. I have a bunch of other gear, including a Uverse reciever connected to it. I had been having some issues with On Demand freezing up on me on my main system. I had previously had issues on my physical line but they said it was something on my physical setup.

He checked my HDMI cables and powerlines and got a bunch of noise on them. I just so happened to look at my APC H15 and noticed the line trim button was yellow and the line ok button was NOT on.

I then went into the AVR Range and changed it to wide and suddenly the line ok button lit. Do I need to be concerned or am I crazy?

Here are some pics:

Here is how it looks right now:

Here is how it looks with AVR Range "Wide"

Thoughts from folks?

I called the apartment complex and asked them to check the voltage of those two jacks as this apartment was renovated right before we moved in. Everything they did passed inspections, but I dont know exactly what they did and we did have some issues with some of the finishing touches so there might have been issues with electrical we didnt/dont know about.

Anyway all you electrical guru's give me your thoughts....

How would I go about checking the voltage at the outlet?

Interesting. Now its back and working fine. I am curious if they did something to the wiring outside, or if the power company had an issue and its now fixed.....

I havent changed anything. Also I discovered if I hit the Select button on the unit it shows me the incoming voltage.

Sometimes I can be an idiot :razz:

    It now looks like this:

In rechecking the settings it appears when the AVR mode is on normal the Line OK is blue, when on Narrow its not. Anything worth being concerned about?

Main reason is that I want to ensure I dont have any noise on my line as thats what the Uverse guys laid the blame on for why my DVR box started freezing up. I want to make sure I protect the Carver gear I have as well as the rest of my stuff (which is why I got the APC unit to begin with)

You'll have to ask folks familiar with that unit about the specifics. From here, you look good with an incoming voltage of 124.

According to the APC H15 manual:
? ?Wide? if the line voltage in your area is not stable.
? ?Narrow? if the line voltage in your area is stable (generally around 120V).

    ? Narrow AVR Range: 102-132 Volts, Regulates to: 120 Volts ? 5%.
    ? Normal AVR Range: 97-139 Volts, Regulates to: 120 Volts ? 10%.
    ? Wide AVR Range: 92 - 145V, Regulates to: 120V ? 15%.

    Line OK Status Indicator
When lit, input voltage from the utility is within acceptable
range. If not lit, input voltage from the utility is too far out of
the acceptable range for the H10 and it will go into boost or trim
mode to compensate for the low or high incoming line voltage.

So when the APC was showing that it was having to trim the voltage on "Normal," that would mean you were getting more than 132V from your outlet at the time. If that is not the case, then it could be the APC unit itself that is faulty.

Hmmm...... I don't think 124vac is outside normal, and it looks it would be ok if normal 97-139vac. Now if not normal look at the input voltage, now if outside that voltage Yeh check other outlets. You could have a bad neutral wire that would give you issues, you got 240vac coming so if you have 90vac some other outlets should be 150vac. If nothing check the outlets with an extension cord to your APC moving around to check outlets when the APC has a Trim Line light.
