Go with the 505, or if you can extend your budget the DSW600 gets some pretty good reviews, and is a wireless sub.

PSW505 is probably your best bet if you REALLY have to have Polk.

I have a PSW505 and it's perfect for my needs. Most "audiophile" peeps will tell you Polk subs aren't all that great, too me they are too anal. :)

First, WELCOME to Club Polk! Hope you'll stick around...

I HIGHLY recommend the DSW PRO550wi! It's a 10" sub with 200W Continuous/400W Peak - PLENTY enough for your application. It's wireless-ready, but I'd suggest using it wired for better performance - and no $100+ additional cost for the wireless kit. I recently got a new one of these from newegg for $300 with Free shipping and no tax and Free Polk UltraFit 3000 In-Ear Sports Headphones ($100 at Best Buy or direct from Polk). Polk's List price on this sub is $540 and it's currently $446 at Newegg (without the free headphones!). It has plenty of power to keep up with my two 5.1 systems anchored by Monitor 10s and SDA 2B Fronts and sound really sweet for both movie watching and music enjoyment. Nice and tight/punchy, yet not boomy/flabby like a lot of the 12" subs. I got the PRO 550wi only because I was so happy with the DSW PRO500 (EXACT SAME thing as the PRO 550wi, except the 550 is wireless-ready) that I've had for a few years now. The 550 also does have a 100-120V/220-240V selector switch on it.

I think a 12" sub would be overkill for your setup, and as noted above, to me they are boomy and the cabinets are pretty huge.

The PSW505 is liked by many members of this forum, but I don't think it's nearly as "refined" as the DSW subs. It is CURRENTY listed at $200 at Newegg! The reason you couldn't find it in the current products is that it's not being made by Polk anymore. To see its information, click on the Products tab at the top of the page and then the Vintage Products tab below that. To me, those feet look to be on the cheap side and the cabinet looks mighty boxy - again, just less refined as the DSW line. Also, the DSWs can be used as down-firing OR front-firing and include a remote control, which I like a lot.

I also have a PSW111 that I like very much. It's in my workout room, accompanying VM10s and does a fine job of it. However, I don't think it would be as punchy as you'd want and it does NOT have a 220V option on it.

I know people who have the PSW110 and like it, but I've never heard one personally.

If you're currently in Europe, I don't know about shipping there, or if Newegg or Polk even does that.

Also, yes, do plug the pre-out connection for the subwoofer into the LFE input.

A sub size is determined by how big your room is... Don't make a decision unless you know it can move the necessary air mass in the room...

    ok

my room is 11.5X11.5 feet (3.5X3.5 meter)
    i need a 220-240 voltage support

    dsw440 - 8"
    psw110 - 10"
    psw505 - 12"

those are my polk-final options, the pro 550 is too expensive
im buying from amazon/newegg with a shipping company

    do they support the 220-240V?
which one will preform best in my small room?

    thank you, lior.

That's a pretty small room? The 440 would do OK in there. The 505 might be too boomy. The PSW 110 is not as musically tight and fast as the higher DSW series!

I don't see anywhere in your link where it says that it isn't 220V compatible. It does show in the PRO440 picture though the same 110V/220V switch that's on the back of my 550. I'd check with Polk's Customer Service (US/Canada and Non-North America phone numbers are given at the bottom of the "Specs" tab on your link) to make sure, before pulling the trigger. How much can you get a DSWPRO440wi for? I've seen the 550 for $280 from Newegg. You can log in on their site and request a price alert for any item - they'll send you an email whenever the item price goes below your specified price point. I've seen several times where they've drastically reduced the price on the 550 and 660 for a few days at a time. Never have noticed it for the 440.

if i`d tell you the price you will laugh and you may cry for me afterwards
im from israel and everything is very-very-very expancive
for example, a new psw110 costs about 2,790 shekel, which is 715$
that is the reason i bought all my spekers from amazon.
