and I will be watching the sky so I can bid her farewell. She, and her sisters wore a Nation's pride and tommorow I will come to attention and salute her as she flies overhead, and I don't care how silly it looks to anyone that sees me do so. Funny just how much some things mean to us after they are gone. I hope one day our children or grandchildren will gaze upon these great spacecraft and look to the stars and have the courage to pick up where we left off.

I don't want politics here, but I will say this... I will vote for anyone that promises to restore NASA's budget and thensome. All of the economic benefit that came from the Space Program paid for the investment ten-fold, and the pride of a Nation brought us all together as Americans in a way that nothing else could. The bottom line is we NEED NASA more than any other shovel-ready bs job I can think of.

Godspeed Endeavour, and thank you to all that flew her and the other birds of the STS program.

I will be watching tomorrow morning. It is supposed to fly over where I work in Mountain View. The problem is there is not an exact time, and I can not hang out in the parking lot all morning. The only time I ever voted for a Republican presidential candidate was in 84 for Reagan. Mondale said he was going to stop the space station, and that was unacceptable.

BlueFox, too bad they are taking it to LA and not to Ames :) I remember when AN-124 Ruslan was coming to Ames to pick up some satellites, the amount of wind going over 101 on its takeoff was crazy, not to mention the noise from those 4 giant engines.

Just watched it go overhead. We were standing outside wondering where it would be, and then it came up roaring almost overhead. What a great view seeing it go by with its fighter escort.

Couldn't agree more. STEM funding is crucial, and our congress critters just killed a potential bill. I don't know the detail why, and if I did I wouldn't want to discuss it here. It did seem to have bipartisan support too. Shame.

We are falling back and will soon get overtaken. We need to invest to remain #1.

But I agree about retiring the shuttles. They are great engineering achievements. However, NASA needs to be more than just being a space delivery service to ISS. Let commercial enterprises do that and let NASA try to do the next impossible step. Sadly, there seems to be little momentum (and funding) at NASA these days.

When you have a President that thinks the U.S. is not any better than the other countries of the world, he would naturally cut funding to NASA. It put's us on par with Pakistan and Egypt. Russia will charge 60 million per seat to take our guys into space.
