Are these a good brand

I will be buying a new amp soon and thought that while I am at it I may as well buy some new power cables for the amp and pre. The prices on the pangea models are cheap to it riases the question of how good they are. Do you have experience with them and are there certain lengths to avoid? Will they flex into tight spaces? What about there hdmi cables? I have had too many monoprice ones go dead so I'm done with that brand. My new pj mount comes on friday so I may bridge a pair between the epson 5010 and the darbee dvp

The positive results I heard from Pangea power cables is what convinced me that power cords do have an audible effect on the sound. The AC9 is very hard to work with in a tight space. The AC14 is easy to work with. Get the SE version. I have had no issue with their HDMI cable. It seems well built, but I did get the more expensive version.

You got the silver plated hdmi cables then? How were they?

The reason I asked about the length is that I vaguely remember reading some place that power cables need to be a certain length to work their magic. If this true the what is the minimum?

I got this cable in 6 meter length. It works fine, and I have some slack where before my cable was stretched to it's limit.

I have never heard anything specific about power cord length, and I buy either 1 or 2 meter cables, depending on what I need.

Try Signal Cable, they sell direct and are very reasonable...I use it for my power amp and CD player. The 10 gauge cable works much better than the cheap 18 gauge that came with it.

The AC14SE works very well on digital source. Huge improvement over stock PC in clarity, dynamics and separation of detail.

The AC9 is fantastic on amps, receivers, and pre-amps. In every case I get a bump in midbass after installation. The sound is on the warm side so keep that in mind for system synergy. The only downside is that it's literally thicker than a garden hose and very heavy so they won't work in tight spaces and can put stress on your AC outlet/inlets

While the Pangea is a good cable, for a few dollars more the Shunyata Viper will outperform it. I have used both, so this comment is from experience, not something I read on the Internet.

PFB, I suggest running that badboy with the stock cord for a few weeks, get used to the sound, then switch out the PC. May give you a better idea of what a good PC can do.

Actually, I meant Venom. I don't think they have a Viper, unless it is really old. The Venom is $129.

I would like to try one myself.
Excellent reviews on the Venom, never seen a bad thing written about it.

I have always been a big fan of Chris VH's "Flavor" power cables myself.
I have had them all I think once or twice in the past, and the Flavor 4 is killer bang for buck on the used market.
Mine have the Furutech FI-25 connectors (more expensive than what we are talking about here even used) but he makes a killer power cable even with the Wattgates.

Bluefox want to send me a Venom power cable to try, and I will send one that is equal or better for you to try?

Of course we will be swapping back after we try each!

VH Flavor 4 with Furutech FI-25' on each end?

One of my "Modded" VH styles?

I recently went all to Pangea power cables an really like the results. I currently have the AC9 plugged into the amp and wall.

Unfortunately do to the size and weight the plug in the wall sags a bit. Is there a trick on having it propped up or just stick a piece of wood underneath to alleviate the weight?

    Thanks

Same on mine too. I just used a small wood block to support it. These power cables are a great buy.

    thanks ERN

I was thinking of maybe going with the AC14SE to the AMP.

The AC9 is tough to work with and putting a strain on the connections.

Would going to a AC14SE be too small for a AMP?
