This makes me wonder, does anyone here have one or more songs that they have instructed to be played at their funeral?

among many favorites, i want the new orleans style funeral procession..start off slow and dirge-like...ending in a no holds barred party!

Absolutely great stuff there! Who here has not heard the Hendrix legacy (influence) in many genres since he left us! The imitators are LEGION! And he remains incredibly fresh and listenable to this day!

Have to roll some Jimi out for today, thanks!

    Prince is better!!!

Just Kidding, I know he was a big influence and still is, and I like many of his songs but I was never a huge fan of him like I was with Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath or even the Rolling Stones..

His music will out live our great grand children and so will the artists I mentioned above..

Funeral? I'm going to ask for John Cage's 4'33". Just about the right amount of time for a life few will remember, mine!

Hmmmm. I gotta go with Bold As Love. Absolutely phenominal song. Some of the best guitar and lyrics ever. Period. I'm going to listen to some Hendrix right now, starting with the acoustic "Hear my train a comin' (acoustic).

"Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)" is one of my favorite Hendrix tunes. Nothing spectacular, just really good mellow funk Hendrix.

    ... "Hey Joe" another favorite.

At my funeral, "Planet Caravan" or "Solitude" for openers. Get everybody crying than .... "Into the Void", "Supernaut". Maybe "Children of the Grave " ? Have to think about that one.
If by the end of the service, chairs and fists aren't flying, I'm going to be disappointed.

Hendrix did his version of "Hey Joe" because of Arthur Lee and Love doing theirs. Gave him the "inspiration"......

Speaking of that, has anyone heard Love's "The Everlasting First"? Hendrix plays guitar on it. Great song!
