Off topic - 100 posts just to read For Sale posts?

I have been traveling for a little while and today I tried to read some of the For Sale postings and got the message that I could not read the post until I had 100 mesages posted. Up until now I was able to read them even though I could not create a for sale ad until I had 100 posts. Has there been a change in policy, or just an enforcement of an existing policy??.....kind of frustrating that I cannot even read the for sale items and perhaps help some one that needs to sell an item.

I hate people that run their post count up just to sell something.

I'll bet this is going to be considered spamming. Continue with the way you are going you might end up getting banned and never reach 100. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry....I'm not understanding why it would be bad for someone to READ For Sale threads or BUY something that's listed even if they are new here or are just visiting. If you've got a PayPal account and an address, you're good enough for me to sell to...Not that I am currently selling anything or planning to, but I think it's a perk to those members who are to give them maximum exposure.

I do understand the post count minimum for selling. Yeah, we like to feel that we know you and can trust you, etc., etc. But, that's far from a foolproof plan also.

I never sell anything. I do buy stuff. I also would like the ability to post leads on speakers. I can understand needing 100 posts to post an ad, but to read one? Never heard of that one. Any of you seasoned folks sitting, watching, and keeping track... Let me know when I post something for sale... I bet you wait a LONG time.

I just asked my mom if I could move back into her basement! That way I'd have no mortgage, no reason to work,no money! But I could post all day long!!!! She told me to "Keep ##cking dreaming". Since I moved out 36 years ago I don't know her as well, but I think that was definitely a no.

I agree with it. It will help keep the people out who are just joining for "toys". We will end up with less of the spamming. And should provide for more meaningful threads, like this one.

At least it keeps the reading comprehension challenged 1 post wonders from digging up 5 year old FS threads. That's annoying. For those who have been here awhile & don't have 100, it's not hard to get there!

I can see this both ways. (it is the failings of a college debate group member)

I bought my gaskets and my Sony ES CD changer before I had 100 posts.

Exactly. It is the classic shotgun approach. One person takes advantage of a situation, and everyone with less than 100 posts is punished. Just small minded thinking from my perspective........just 27 more posts and I will have earned the privilege of reading the for sale messages.

Usually I check the on-sale section at lease twice a day for a Adcom GFA-555. not any more.
