I'll be spending a few days in Vancouver and a night in Kelowna in a few weeks... and i'm looking for some good places to eat. I eat anything and everything.. finding good food in Vancouver is easy.... Kelowna might be slightly tougher.. so if any of our friends to the North can suggest some places to eat or must see things in either of those cities... i'll give you a big hug when I see you!!

A good place to stay and eat in Kelowna is the Manteo Resort - very nice hotel and they have a nice restaurant with an outdoor patio on the waterfront. They also have boat rentals and bike rentals. Most of the restaurants I’ve been to in Kelowna are very similar to the chains here (Keg etc.) so I can’t offer too much…

For Vancouver you have downtown, Stanley Park, Gondola ride up Grouse Mountain, Grouse Grind, Capilano or Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, Kits Beach, UBC and Wreck Beach, Whistler (couple hours from Vancouver)

There was a nice restaurant at the Delta Hotel in Kelowna last time I was there. A little pricey, but good.

If you have time to check out an audio store in Vancouver, try this one. Lots of high end equipment.

Kelowna has quite a few good restaurants, it kind of depends on your budget and what you like. I live in Vernon which is just 30 miles north of Kelowna and have eaten at several good spots in Kelowna. One thing Kelowna is seriously lacking is good audio stores. There are a few decent record stores but the prices are a little high. The best record shop (used and new) in the Okanagan valley (kelown, Vernon, Penticton, Osoyoos) is Eclectibles in Vernon. I'm a good friend with the owner Rod Neufeld and he has a great selection of used classic rock, blues, r and b, and jazz. He also has an expanding selection of new stuff as well. All in alphabetical order and the best prices in western Canada. He's on the main street in downtown Vernon (30th Avenue). Vernon has a few very good eateries as well.

By the way we are experiencing the most beautiful Indian summer up here right now. Sunny with temps in the high 70's and low 80's. Been that way for a couple weeks and the weather man says no end in sight. Glad to see our border cousins venturing north. Welcome!!
