Speaker Placement/Room Design

Trying to figure out best speaker location for my room. Please see below. I would like to place the speakers in the Red location (for # of reason, big/wider sound, less exposure to kids) but I'm wondering if placing them closer to the TV would be better.

Also I'm open to changing the lay out of my room. Feel free to propose what might work. Room is small (13'x18')
TIA

Too wide for my liking. I would put them on each side of the TV if they will fit. Will they be hooked-up to the TV? If not, how about on the wall against the stairs for stereo listening?

I agree I think they should be between 8 to 10 feet apart with the TV in the center.
I've also tried the corner positions and didn't like it much. But at the end of the day it's your ears if it sounds good go for it.

Can you mark what is a couch or bookcase or table to see what furniture could be moved around.Looks like you have some room to play with.I would try to get the tv and speakers to the right side of the room .

For now I put it on the side of the TV (Pictures to come soon).
It sounds fine, but not as "wide" or "big"....hard to define it. Will try to move it in the corners to hear the outcome.wattmeworry wrote: »Can you mark what is a couch or bookcase or table to see what furniture could be moved around.Looks like you have some room to play with.I would try to get the tv and speakers to the right side of the room .
It's all couches/recliners. I can take 1 of the recliners out (if need maybe)
