I am using the Onkyo TX NR 708 and the Acurus 125x5 power amp. Is this sufficient to run the SDA 2B's??

You should be just fine. The 2B is not an extreme power hungry monster speaker the 2b were probably the least power hungry of all the SDA's and they could be powered to modest levels with 50 wpc.

I see these questions a lot about the power amps and one thing always comes to mind.
How loud do you intend to play them? Are you the guy that turns the bass all the way like +12 and has the loudness control on too? Loudness and power are not linear a little louder does use a little power. Somewhere I read 2x as loud needs 10x the power.
Not in your case but you know a lot of those 125x5 ratings are not realistic for all channels at continuous power as the other components cannot supply the voltage to sustain such
When I want to play it a little loud I switch to two 2 channel mode which except for movies and TV is what I use anyway with SDA's because it is what that were designed for.
