Hookup/Wiring problems

okay let me see if I can do this(explain) Going From my Audio Alchemy DAC out, to a pair of 6inch Audio Y-cables going to a Musical fidelity X-10v3 input to a pair of mono blocks power Amps.... Works fine.... this hook up is for a more direct pure sound without being connected to a preamp(note: my Audio Alchemy dac has a gain control) from a Denon cd/dvd player... that set up works fine.


Now the problem:I want to run from my pre-amp out to one of the Y-cables going to MF X-10v3 so I can switch back and forth... I have all of my other components, Oppo 95,dvd recorder, DVR, Connected to my Adcom Pre-Amp.

I tried this, "ugly"... lost the sound in the right channel and volume low.... what am doing wrong.
