Help:question:I got my new Audio-gd 11.32 Dac with the ES 9018 Sabre chip. Here's the problem:
The driver for the 32bit Usb does not install automatically. It has to be downloaded to WRAR and then extracted to a folder on the desktop.....Next,you simply open the folder, which contains 27 files.scroll down to SETUP.EXE and run it and you're all set.
This has worked for everyone....except....ME:sad:.The problem is that when I extract the download(27files) to a folder, only 26 files extract.....everything but:SETUP.EXE!!!
I've tried this about 50 times, using WRAR,WinZip,7-Zip,etc......nothing will extract SETUP.EXE.If I can't extract it,I can't use the fabulous 32bit Usb input.I've even tried to unzip, just this file, but windows says that it does not recognize "setup.exe".
I have Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate as my OS and i have been looking on the 'net for solutions for a week...no luck...I even tried to extract to the C:drive and open that way in a temp folder, but, once again,26 files extract, but not 27.....I'm thinking of buying the Windows 7 upgrade, but before I go nuclear......Is there some polkie who might know how to fix this before I throw it(and myself),out the friggin' window?:frown:.......thankx,peter

I visited http://audio-gd.com/Pro/Headphoneamp/NFB11.32/NFB11.32EN.htm and downloaded the Windows driver and saved it to my computer. it was a single rar file. i then downloaded/installed the Free RAR Extract Frog (a free utility for Windows that extracts the contents of files compressed in RAR format) that was found on CNET here http://download.cnet.com/Free-RAR-Extract-Frog/3000-2250_4-10804840.html After the RAR Frog was istalled I pointed to the downloaded RAR file that contained the drivers, right clicked, and clicked 'Extract'. A folder was created with two folders inside and 24 other files... and setup.exe was among those file. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help.....i did this and it started to install the setup file and the windows installer says that it was installed successfully, but one component did not install......Something is amiss, either with the registry or windows vista. My guess is the registry......if I can't figure this out,I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7 in 2 weeks and see if the upgraded OS will complete this....thankx,peter -
the manufacturer's site said to pug in the device with the USB cable befor runnig the installation. also, i don't know what tool that you are using to extract the contents of the RAR file, but be sure to extract it all to it's own folder and then run the setup fom the folder (not from the RAR extraction tool interface). finally, i find that in Vista and 7 some less than throughly compatible programs install better if you point to the application (setup.exe in this case), right click, andthen click "run as administrator". this provides the installation with some rights that allows it to write to locations that windows now considers to be protected system folders... good luck.

Thanks,I tried this,too.....no luck. One thing I did is go back down from I.E-8 to I.E.-7.......Internet explorer has been crashing on me ever since I installed it about 8 months, ago.I was also getting the message:"setup.exe has stopped working",when I tried to uninstall anything.
I.E.-7 is running much better.I'm going to do an upgrade to Windows 7,when i get my check on 10/3.I hate this bloated Vista Ultimate 64-bit(lol).
Kingwa from Audio-gd had a good suggestion to use another computer to extract the file and put it on a flash drive and then load it on my pc.........I think that might work. Thanks for your help,it's much appreciated.....peter -
I clicked on the link you posted and dl'd the first link on the left. It status is 100 files in 13 folders. I could db it to you if you have an account, or I'll send you an invite if interested.

I have another hard drive installed on my computer,it is an IDE.I haven't used for about 2yrs and it contains no changes for 2yrs.When I get a flash drive on weds. from amazon,I'm going to connect the old HD,download the RAR file and see if I can extract the setup.exe file........If this works and it extracts,I'll load the extracted file onto a flash drive and run it on my main sata hard drive..........if this works,I think it will tell me that i have some registry errors on current windows......I'll then upgrade to Windows 7.....thankx,peter -
