Unobtrusive post count thread...

Just starting this so real, honest members can get their post count to 100 without posting useless noise to get the privilege to look at for sale items. Just post: +1 if your in the same boat. I'm fine selling on Epay and Agone so I'm not trying to get my post count up for that purpose. I do however enjoy browsing the for sale section and learning/dreaming about items that can help me in my journey towards better sound.

THis is a good idea but I dont want to run up my post count just for this reason. This is what happened with the ability to sell they bumped up the number of posts from 15 to 100. So what is to say this wont go up to 500 or 1000 or what ever arbitrary number someone decides as the threshold for being an acceptable member!

Please note the moderators have "spot banned" new members who have blatantly and intentionally run up their post count to place a for sale ad. You guys have been around a while and although you're probably good guys so please don't take this as personal. The rules are being imposed to protect the members from other not so nice guys who have come here not just to sell or buy, but have ripped off members.
If you have come here to read, learn, discuss audio/video, etc. This Forum is completely open to you and we welcome your participation. Nothing has changed about that.
Again, other Forums such as Steve Hoffman (and I'll bet you both have been there) also "ghost" their For Sale section. At AudioKarma, you pay ANUALLY to have access to the Marketplace. Club Polk is no different than the other popular Forums in restricting access. Please move on!
Regards,Carl -
I too, enjoy looking at the For Sale Classified section here at CP many times during the day. Guess it's time to catch up again on my posts count so I can see what's for sale.

It's a great idea and I am also stuck below 100... I really don't have much to offer techinically either but I do wish there was a faster way to make it happen. However I do respect why they do it and I can appreciate the level of safety it affords to established members who honestly want to help each other and not be ripped off! Well, here's the thing; post count or not, you're still new and relatively unknown--so you may well have difficulty getting a seasoned member to sell to you. If you're looking for something specifically, maybe post an interest post in the clubhouse. I realize it's a bit of a pain, but that 100 posts will come quick.

Maybe they should waive post count rule after a certain time period. The two first posters on this thread have been around for quite awhile and still dont have over 100 post.I got static in my head
The reflected sound of everything -
I just don't see the need for this rule. I know myself, I wouldn't sell to a member that doesn't deserve it, like one who has just googled the item, saw it, and joined to buy it. Things WERE working fine before this rule, and would continue if allowed. Always remember, sell at your own risk. I just see this rule as a "nanny state" kind of rule.
Steve I agree with your statement that a long term member may not sell to someone who is new, or is unknown to them. Besides, I'm surprised, with your views I'd think you would rail against this kind of supervision!
Remember, like I said -
SELL AT YOUR OWN RISK. Kinda like a newbie in the WTB section, though I have seen many fine deals go down for someone looking for one item to complete there setup that is brand new. Either way, I'm covered with all of my useless posts, so I could care either way for the most part.
Cheers. -
I'm trying to hit 10,000 so I can buy from the real special Polk flea market.

I can understand the restriction to sell items, but don't see much rationale for buyers. If you're worried about a noob, you don't ship util you get the money.Polk Fronts: RTi A7's

Some of the members here have been here for 13-14 years. After awhile, we got pretty good at covering each other's zorches, and know better than to take advice from people who are only here to sell.

If you just post in the clubhouse and music and movies alone, which of course covers tv also, i cant imagine anybody not being able to come up with 100 things to bring up.
How many casual conversations, or party chats would it take to talk about OR RESPOND TO 100 things.
Remember, its not like you have to come up with 100 things to talk about.humpty dumpty was pushed -

On vacation this week, the next three weeks will be medical leave.
Sounds like I have a goal while I'm off. -
